This 560-foot pedestrian alley houses a rotating exhibition of murals that center community voices and themes of social and environmental justice.
The project began in 1992 with the Clarion Alley Mural Project, a volunteer collective of six local residents: Aaron Noble, Michael O'Connor, Sebastiana Pastor, Rigo 231Known at the time as Rigo 93, he used to change his name annually, Mary Gail Snyder, and Aracely Soriano. Disgusted with the look and smell of the narrow street they took inspiration from the nearby Balmy Alley and recruited forty artists to fill it with bright works.
The walls are refreshed often, so every time you return you'll see something different. If you would like to re-visit a favorite mural you may be able to find it in the archive: https://clarionalleymuralproject.org/murals/
